Hi Folks:
This is the eighth year now that we’ve made our MS Word photo calendar templates available, and as with the past couple of years, we’ve also created a series of templates and calendar images you can use with Lightroom or other graphics software. As we’ve done before we’ve also added a full-page calendar option, below.
I created a template in MS Word that allows people who don’t have Photoshop, Lightroom or the equivalent to make their own photo calendars, so we’ll cover that first; the Lightroom stuff is below that. I used MS Word 2007 to make the template, but saved it as both a Word 2007 file and a Word 97-2003 compatible file. Basically it’s a series of tables, one for each month, that look something like this:
The large square at the top is a blank table cell. If you click on it and go to Insert/Picture you can add your own image. The easiest way is to select 12 images that all have the same size/shape (4×5 / 8×10 landscape aspect ratio); otherwise you may have to fiddle with the cell heights to make the calendar line up from month to month. Here are the template files:

2018 Calendar template – Word 97-2003
We’ve also made our own photo calendar available again this year. It looks like this:
Almost all of the images were made in Victoria, BC. The image for October was made in Tofino, BC and the image for November was made in Vancouver, BC. Half of the images were made by Marcia and half by Mike; all were made using our cell phone cameras. All images were made in the month they represent (i.e. the image for January 2018 was made in January 2017, etc.) I saved it as a .pdf file; clicking on the picture above will enable you to download the .pdf.
All of the images in the calendar are © Copyright 2017 Marcia and Mike Nelson Pedde:

That means you can use them for personal use but not for business (okay to give them to family but not for sale), you can’t modify or change them in any way, and if you do use them you’ll give us credit for them by adding our names and linking back to this site or our Flickr site. Thanks!!
As mentioned above, I created a set of calendar files and two Lightroom templates for the 2018 calendars. All of the images and instructions can be downloaded from this file: Calendar.zip. There are 13 calendar images: one for each month and one for the entire year. The monthly calendars look the same as the image at the top. The templates are based on an 8″x10″ image size, so they’ll fit easily on letter-sized or A4-sized paper. The annual calendar, created using the Lightroom template and one of our images and printed to .jpg from Lightroom, looks like this:
Finally, as mentioned at the top, we’ve added 12 more high-resolution calendar images (one for each month), but with each month occupying a full 8×10″ space. They look like this:
You can use these calendar files along with your own images to create a 2-sided, spiral bound calendar like this:
or, if you want to get fancy, you can do something like this:
We leave the rest to your creativity! Our best wishes to you and those close to you for a new year full of as much love, excitement, joy, peace and harmony as you can handle!
Hugs,
M&M
P.S. For the past several years, Ed Weaver at RED Photographic has made Lightroom calendar templates available. You can find the ones for 2018 here. Helen Bradley also has a set of templates for Lightroom here. Jeffrey Friedly has made a Photoshop script/ template set for 2016-2020, here. If I come across any others I’ll add them in.
P.S. II, the sequel: You can find more of our posts on photography and Lightroom tutorials here, and you can find links to over 200 other sites that have Lightroom tips, tutorials and videos here.
This is a lovely calendar- love the dragon and Ms September. truly genius at work.
Thanks, much!!

These are so incredibly gorgeous! Really beautiful work. I was thinking to make a calendar at some point, only because someone had asked. It's an ingenious idea.
Give it a try! Let us know if you have any questions!
