Hi Folks:
As last Saturday (the first Saturday in July) was International Free Hugs Day, we were out at our usual location (Victoria’s Homecoming Memorial, by Ship Point) offering hugs to locals and visitors alike. This was our 9th hugging session this year, but because it was International Free Hugs Day we extended an invitation to friends and members of our local photography group to come and join us… and join us they did!
Our special thanks to Aaron and Lynn, Berge, and Michelle for coming out and sharing hugs with us! It was fun.
Okay, that’s it. Remember, you don’t need a special occasion to hug the ones you love! Or a stranger! Or, preferably, both!!
Hugs,
M&M
P.S. Our original Free Hugs post was on making Hug Certificates. We print these off on business card stock and give them out, leave them on coffee shop tables, slip them into books… You can find a template to make your own here: Hug Certificates
P.S. II, the sequel. So far this year we’ve hugged people from the Victoria area as well as visitors from 39 countries (that we know about). Our record was 41 countries in 2014, so we’re catching up! For this year we have: Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Denmark, England, France, Germany, Haiti, India, Iran, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Jamaica, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Pakistan, Panama, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Saudi Arabia, Scotland, South Africa, Spain, Thailand, Uruguay, US, Vietnam, Wales. We’re always looking for more!
